The reference/composition for this painting was created by manipulating two pre-existing artworks, one contemporary and one more traditional, that include examples of drapery. The blue fabric came from "Saturnina Canaleta de Girona" (1856) by Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta, and the figure encased in the white fabric came from "Child of Light" (1999) by William Whitaker.
